Technomagickck and other blunders

Artinformal
2025

Developed in collaboration with binakol weavers in Abra, the paintings use custom-woven textiles, with the exception of three panels that use green linen. Rather than predetermining a pattern, weavers Maricel de Martin-Domondon and John Paul Ardaniel were requested to introduce miscounts into the kusikus warp, allowing the resulting disruptions to emerge through their own decisions. Each square-format panel echoes the geometry of a pixel, while a screen renders the glitched pattern in ASCII. Together, these works bring traditional weaving and computational image-making into relation, treating error not as failure but as a shared generative language.

For inquiries or commissions involving binakol weaving, Maricel and her team may be contacted directly at +63 950 910 8769, or through nice.buenaventura@gmail.com.

Technomagickck and other blunders extends the artistic research first developed and presented in Mt. Pareidolia (2024). Documentation of that earlier exhibition can be found here.
