Dormilón is a natural and digital media installation featuring plant matter with computer-controlled motion and sound. With its interaction design modelled after the botanical reflex of a plant of the same name (M. pudica), plant sensing—the electrical and chemical signalling capacity of plant life—is made observable via technology. Questions about agency also arise, especially as to whether it is truly possessed by the plant or merely lent to it by artistic intentionality and electronics.
Dormilón was a prototype for Boolean Garden.
