B.a.B.E.L. II (Leisurely Erasing Body after Body)
c3 Contemporary Art Space

2017
B.a.B.E.L II (Leisurely Erasing Body after Body) is exhibited as part of Proximity, an all-Filipino group exhibition at the Abbotsford Convent in Victoria, Australia, curated by Tania Smith. The work responds to the exhumation of Philippine dictator Ferdinand Marcos: taken from his original grave and moved to the Heroes’ Cemetery in 2016 despite opposition from the public. Buenaventura’s installation of resin and toner prisms is a visual manifestation of this trajectory, protesting in support of the thousands who suffered and perished under his rule.
